We sincerely believe in providing opportunities. We're committed to not only spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, but just like Jesus we're also committed to making a difference in the world around us. Our goal is to bring the community together by the bridge of faith through Jesus Christ. In doing so we aim to meet the needs of our community around us through our various ministries.
We're currently saving up to remodel our top floor to make room for a daycare and after school tutoring. Our small parcel of ground behind our facility is being cleared and tilled to provide for a community garden which will support families and seniors in need.
In 2015, we began our homeless outreach ministry as the housing crisis began to become more prevalent in the bay area. We were blessed to be able to prepare homecooked meals and provide some toiletry items to those in need in both Oakland and Emeryville communities.
During the height of the pandemic in 2020, we formulated our co-vid ministry to be able to provide outdoor socially distant worship opportunities to those in need.
In 2021, we were blessed to mobilize our hospital visitation ministry. If you or a loved one is ever hospitalized within a 25-mile radius of our location we have a dedicated team that can come to you, pray for you, and worship with you (hospital regulations permitting).
In the same year we also began hosting workshops to assist the community with credit repair, and financial education.
In 2022, we began the "Faith and Blue" partnership with the Emeryville police department. In recognition of the civil unrest within our country, we sought to bridge the gap between the police and the community with the church being the bridge.
This coming summer of 2023 we plan to host another community event in June where we will worship in our neighboring community park (Doyle Park), feed the homeless and all attendees, as well as have a prayer service for all attending first responders. By end of summer, we plan to host a backpack giveaway to offer school supplies to families of children in need.
We are currently seeking opportunities to host various community development and personal training workshops such as adult education classes, CPR training, first aid training, and more.
If it’s the Lords will, in the next 3-7 years we hope to have all our resources in place to not only meet the educational needs of the community around us; but housing needs as well. We have a vision of not only providing assistance in the form of recovery programs, but senior housing as well.
Over the past 40 years our church has sponsored all our programs singlehandedly. We invite you to participate with us however you can. First and foremost, prayers are always needed. In addition, there are other contributions that can be made as well such as monetary, volunteer time and real estate donations. We are a registered 501c3 non-profit charitable organization, and all donations are tax deductible, and are used to fund our various ministries and programs. Our hope and prayer is that you will join us in bringing Gods providence to the communities around us. Please take advantage of the opportunity to join us as we change the world one person at a time.
Listen to the apostle Paul as he wrote to the church at Corinth concerning this very same thing;
2 Corinthians 9:6-15 (New King James Version)
6 But this I say:He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 9 As it is written:
“He has dispersed abroad; He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, 11 while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. 12 For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, 13 while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, 14 and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
